JOB PURPOSE

  • To provide consultancy services, working as part of team of professional advisors, to clients, mainly from, though not exclusively, within the social housing sector. 
  • The role will require candidates to have a high level of experience and skills in housing finance generally and in some, or all of the following areas of housing finance:
    • treasury management and strategy,
    • financial business plan modelling and
    • other finance-related social housing consultancy, including in the setting of housing rents and service charges.
  • The candidate will work as part of a team but must be personally and professionally confident in being capable of working independently in securing and delivering client work, liaising with clients, with the support of senior colleagues in relation to technical advice and the quality assurance of key outputs.
  • The candidate will be a key member of DTP’s Core Team, which will require proactive engagement with team members in supporting the development and delivery of the organisation’s business strategy, as well as engaging and contributing to the delivery of business objectives within a collegiate culture, enabling the consultancy team to thrive and optimise the leverage of a wide range of skills, experience and capacity.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILTIES

Working co-operatively as part of the DTP consultancy team and in particular to:

  • Generate and deliver consultancy assignments
  • Develop client relationships
  • Develop new areas of work
  • Promote and operate DTP’s values
  • Help to build the DTP brand

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential

  • Self-starter with drive and motivation to strive for continuous improvement, to provide a customer focused service on time and to highest standards in pressurised situations, adding value to the business.
  • Capable of being flexible in working arrangements and able to work both independently and collaboratively as a strong team player
  • Advanced level of computer literacy, covering financial and other business-related applications.
  • Excellent financial, technical and problem-solving skills, with advanced working knowledge of social housing finance, with strong experience in treasury (management and strategy), business planning, accounting and rent setting (with good knowledge of regulatory requirements around rent setting).
  • Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
  • Commitment to work at all times in line with DTP’s values.

Desirable

  • Qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA
  • Experience in Treasury Management
