Salix Homes – Regulator of Social Housing Inspection Support

Salix Homes owns and manages more than 8,000 homes in Salford.

Objective

To provide robust and objective support to the non-executive and colleague teams at Salix Homes to ensure the organisation was well prepared for regulatory inspection.

What we did

DTP provided a range of flexible support to Salix in the period leading up to and during regulatory inspection which included:

  • reviewing key documents prior to submission to the Regulator
  • observing Board meetings and providing constructive feedback
  • pre-interview coaching with non-executive members and colleague teams
  •  ad hoc guidance and discussion as required to support inspection preparations generally

What we achieved

Working collaboratively with Salix Homes, we provided a ‘heads up’ on likely areas of scrutiny and supported a ‘trial run’ of elements of the actual inspection. The aim was to build confidence and assurance within the organisation.  Salix Homes gained a G1/V2/C1 outcome from the subsequent inspection process.

DTP worked alongside and supported our board, customer committee and executive team to prepare for our regulatory inspection. DTP provided both a challenging and pragmatic approach in the ‘run-up’ to the inspection that instilled a confidence that enabled us to present the best version of ourselves throughout the process. The support, review and scrutiny DTP provided enabled Salix to confidently present and showcase our business and the services we provide in an open, honest, authentic way.
